His arrogance is beyond anyone who has ever played this game, the hand shakes, the dancing, the non handshakes and the the seldom ones, the pre game routines and the dunks... In a time where a rivalry continued between the Lakers and Celtics, the USA heads into World Cup with a chance, an oil spill that schocked the world... One man, proclaimed by the four letter network as The King, The Chosen One, The greatest thing to bless the airways is so driven to be the news in everyones head.

We knew this was coming, we knew Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and oh yes, LeBron James would become free agents this year. We new the Nets, Knicks, Bulls and Heat had major play into where they would go and all was supposed to be intriging. It has been to some extent, as long as you know where to find a good read. If you rely on ESPN for your news, well then you would know the FA coverags has been abismal to say the least. Well, that is for the true NBA fan, any casual fan finds that crap to be a God send.

Let's pay some homage to the season that was 2009-1010.

A few things to look back at -

The Oklahoma City Thunder, a great run even after a sluggish start. Coach Brooks had this team believeing in themselves and you can't deny the talent that is Kevin Durant. A point in Russel Westbrook and a 4 in Jeff Green that will keep ths core dangerous for years to come. Not to mention Serge Ibaka, a found role player who plays with grit and heart night in and out.

The Charlotte Bobcats make their first post season in franchise history, albeit short lived Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace led the athletic team into the 1st round when it wasn't expected.

LeBron James acted like a baby out there last night, very disrespectful to the fans and to the Magic team. When the Lakers defeated the Nuggets the other night, Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups stayed on court to say congrats and to give hugs and handshakes. Kobe Bryant and the Lakers did the same when they lost last year. Carmelo then proceeded to the podium, distressed from the loss, but kept his part by giving the people and Nuggets fans something to settle on as the year for them ended. LeBron James walked straight to the locker room without saying anything to anyone. That's horrible sportsmanship... I have lost any respect I had for the guy. Then he doesn't feel like giving closure in a press conference after the game to NBA fans and more importantly Cavaliers fans. LBJ, you may have a great game, but if your only gonna be the cocky person you are when you win... then stop calling yourself the King.

The AFC East is making a stamp of approval once again in the NFL as possibly the toughest division of football. For the longest time it most certainly was one of the most competitve. All of the free agency moves by these teams have cause some stir amongst the NFL. The biggest of course for the Bills when they aquired Terrel Owens. The Bills have also signed a solid center and released some dead weight. They are supposedly trying to get TE Tony Schefler from the Broncos. They definitely have a shot at making some noise. The Patriots are hoping to have Tom Brady back at 100% and they definitely will need him after trading away "first year sensation" Matt Cassel. They have managed to shore up their RB situation in bringing in Fred Taylor. Many people write that off, but remember when they took in old man Corey Dillon? Championship ring folks. They already had a solid wide out core with Randy Moss and Wes Welker, but they have added that third piece of the puzzle by signing Joey Galloway; who had a pretty solid year in 2008. They are currently in talks with Julius Peppers who could shore up that d line and make them harder than they are already. The Jets got younger by Bret Favre retiring, but lost a bit in letting Laverneous Coles vanish. They still have a solid defense is coached right and their offense could put up decent numbers if the qb is protected. Last the Dolphins, who perhaps suprised everyone last year includin Miami fans. The wildcat probably won't work the same this year, but Ted Gin Jr. started to show some life in 08 and the running back tandum of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams can still be lethal. A year grown the Dolphins can compete. So is the AFC East gonna be the toughest division in football, or is it a bunch of over hyped signings and releases which will inevitably lead to the Patriots taking another division title?

Welcome to Buffalo Terrel Owens and thank you for joining our Bills team that needs much help. First of all. Cowboys , Eagles and 49ers fans get over it! When your teams were winnin with 81 in your offense, no one was saying how bad he was. As soon as your teams start going down hill, well then the scape goat of its T.O.s fault. The Bills haven't made the post season in a decade and they really have nothing to lose, so why the heck not? I am a long time Bills fan and I was ready for something to happen... Little did I know the magnitude I was in for. Look at some points I have to make and say I am wrong.

Trent Edwards - Everyone keeps saying "oh, poor Trent... He is gonna ruin his career because of this cancer". You know what, if he can't manage to throw the ball to either Owens or Evans, well then the guy is not cut out to be a quarterback in the NFL. T.O. may be this and he may be that, but one thing I do know is the guy wants to win. Trent Edwards will be fine.

In a June 1998 Fortune story titled, "The Jordan Effect," a team of financial writers estimated that NBA superstar Michael Jordan was responsible for having an economic impact of at least $10 billion.

"During his time in the NBA, Jordan has parlayed his breathtaking skills and overwhelming cross-cultural appeal into an industry, and he's done it more effectively than any sportsman before him," wrote Fortune editor Roy S. Johnson. "The man has his own line of underwear, for heaven's sake."

It would seem that anyone on his way to generating $10 billion for various fast food chains, shoe companies, soda bottlers and movie studios could afford to make a friendly wager on the golf course now and then. But for Michael Jordan, whose moneymaking ability depended almost as much on a vice-free image as it did on athletic prowess (Gatorade had built a campaign around "Be Like Mike," after all) there was more at risk than mere dollars and cents.

Last year we had the Lakers taking Pau Gasol from the Grizzlies, Jason Kidd made his way to the Mavericks and Shaquille O'Neal became the Suns center. This year with all the huge rumor of Amare Stoudamire and possibly Vince Carter making moves in the NBA, were sitting less than 24 hours away from the deadline with the biggest deal being Jermaine O'Neal heading to the Heat in return for Shawn Marion to the Raptors. Not sure were going to see any late minute blockbuster deals this year due to economy and lack of offers. We have seen Adam Morrison and Shannon Brown come to the Lakers in return for Vladimir Radmonovich, which made sense due to contracts and the fact that the space cadet had lost his minutes to Trevor Ariza and Luke Walton. The most recent buzz was the move including Drew Gooden and Andres Nocioni for Brad Miller and John Salmons. The Bulls and the Kings were rumored to be making some moves with other teams. Brad Miller had been rumored to possibly land in San Antonio and finish his season as a Spur, but as most of the rumors it is what it was... A rumor. So if you are an NBA fan waiting for something huge as I am, I wouldn't stay to in tune to the deadline as it looks like this year will be a bust.

The Wizards will look forward to the upcoming All Star activities, in which none of them made. Why will they look forward to the lay off? Well simply said because it is what it is... a 5 day vacation from what this team has become. It hasn't all been bad as of late though as they were able to pull a big win from the newly deemed giant killers of the NBA, the Pacers. Last minute heroics by the former all star Caron Butler gave them a breath of the life they used to know. The effort the young man gave on the court was nothin short of breath taking, especially after missing the previous two games with the flu. The game came down to the last five minutes of the game. "I wasn't going to come out," Butler said. "I wasn't going to let Coach know I was tired. Every time he made eye contact with me, I tried to seem as bright as I could. Just trying to stay out there and will my way through it." He did just that as he hit the game winning shot falling down with great defense played on him by Danny Granger. Hand in his face and all, this was the one time this season they made the impact play. On a side note, Caron Butler needed to recieve a total three IV treatments throughout the game to keep himself able to run around on the floor. Great win from a Wizards team who could be described as dissapointed to say the least.

Wizards logo" width="160" height="100" /> Washington Wizards

Well Wizards faithful, the long season continues on. I am not sure how many people are beginning to jump ship or how many have just decided to stick around for what’s supposed to be known as a professional team. The season is now half way through and the Wizards have played more of their easier opponents, yet have only posted an 8-33 record. To date they have lost 8 of their last 9 with the most recent coming at the hands of the West’s best Los Angeles Lakers.

The game at STAPLES center started out as a close one, with both team battling back and forth. By the time halftime came around the Lakers had managed to score 72 points to the Wizards 49. Some could argue that it’s the Wizards defense losing games for them, as they do struggle in about every part of that court. Pick and rolls, pick and pops, isos and open threes are made fairly too easy for the opposition. I think this team just doesn't have the heart to continue to fight. At this point in the season with the record they have, what can you tell a player to get them motivated to continue to try? They better start to get things together if they want to avoid the leagues worst record at the end. With a tough 3 game stretch, the Wizards will face the Blazers, Suns and Heat. It will be interesting to see if Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler can will them to some wins before the season ends in late April.

Washington Wizards

Antawn Jamison comes up huge in a big win for the Wizards at home against the Cavaliers. This should have been their second win against the Cavs, but as we all know the first was taken away by the same ones who assured this win. With the game on the line, the ball finds its way in to LeBron James, who then takes his patented bull charge approach to the basket. The Wizards pull a quick double to him, he hesitates and walks through the mall and makes his way to the basket for an easy lay up as normal. Wait!? There's a travel called on the play, a travel called on the superstar King James. The Wizards would win this game in deserving fashion and tonight host the great Orlando Magic. I want to use this blog as a means of quotes about the travel known as the "Crab Dribble"... lets rock

Washington Wizards

Well happy holidays to you and yours, except of course if you are a Wizards fan or any member of the organization. I’m not going to talk about the losses or the win against the Thunder. I want to solely concentrate on the disaster known as Christmas day against LeBron James and the Cavaliers. I would like to state now, I fully believe the refs handed this game to the Cavaliers. How could you not? Let’s review...

The Wiz were up 89-82 with less than 2 minutes to play in this game, when all of a sudden nothing could go right for them. They did not score on their final 5 possessions, but even so should have won the game had the refs not have gotten whistle happy against them. Let’s start with Antwan Jamison and his misfortunes. He was hit with his fifth foul on what could have been a block, but that was not the worst of it... With 26.6 seconds to go Jamison picked up his sixth to make his way to the bench. The foul was foul in my opinion; as he battled for a rebound with one of the most infamous flopper Anderson Varajao. Come on refs! Let these guys play ball, especially when going for a crucial rebound! What a horrible call to decide the game, as it would lead to the Cavaliers going in front 90-89 after the floppers two free throws. It's not like the refs only made that ridiculous call, they actually called Caron Butler on a charge as he cut to the basket for a bunny. Ben Wallace, who we all know is not the fastest he has ever been was called to have had his feet set and took the penalty. Caron was also whistled on "can't touch me" James; while in the act of shooting a three. I saw the play and no matter how many times I look at it, I don’t see the contact called that enabled James to get three free throws to trim Washington’s lead to four.

Washington Wizards

The this is what I would do Wizards edition

Where do you start? I had the Wizards prior to the season start as a top 5 team in the East. Do you blame me? Perennial All-Star Caron Butler and superstar Antawn Jamison, backed by a bunch of heavy scorers in the measly East (which is far more advanced than last year) they should be on top of this thing. They should be, but a coaching change, 7 different starting line ups and your best player still injured later were looking at a team with no sight. You could argue that maybe they are still the same and every other team just got better, but seriously is that the truth?

The Wizards have dropped their last four games, all by double digits. Celtics 122-88, Sixers 104-89, Pacers 118-98 and the Pistons 88-74. That’s not good, that’s not a sign of a team that should be good and is just heading in the wrong direction; that’s a sign of a team that is consistently bad. They are back in Washington to play the Sixers for the second time in a week and they DO have a legitimate shot at winning. The only thing is while Elton Brand is missing a month from his injury; Antwan Jamison may be sitting this one out with a thumb injury. If I am a coach on the Wizards staff I would immediately improvise. Do something that has not been done yet... run a faster offense, play full court defense for 24 minutes. Heck you have already tried 7 lineups why not make it 8. Let’s try this; if I am the head coach and I need to win who has performed and who has not. Who can I start the game with to get me a lead and some momentum...?

Washington Wizards

The Wizards started off a very tough five game schedule after beating the Nets and obtaining their first road win. The Wiz have definitely started to look like a professional basketball team of late. Caron Butler playing arguably the best basketball of his career and Antawn Jamison being consistently productive have kept them in a handful of games. They started the hard five as I will call them against the Blazers at home where the game could have gone anyway had the Wizards had that killer instinct. This game was the second in a back to back however and percentage drops for wins on the second night. Regardless the team looked to have played a pretty solid game. Two nights later they face my beloved Lakers. Now I watched every minute of this game and I honestly believe the Wizards deserved to win this game, but they did not. The Lakers had jumped ahead by some twenty points when Phil Jackson put the games determination into the hands of his bench. Now I am no genius, but I do know that the Wizards did not quit for one minute. They came back and they did so with heart. The game came down to the last minutes... something to this effect. Kobe Bryant is fouled; the Lakers are up by one with the reigning MVP going to the line to at least secure overtime for the game. Kobe had been 13 of 13 from the stripe this night and nothing could be more perfect, Bryant receives the ball at the stripe, goes through his pre shot routine... swoosh (or swish if you prefer that). One down one to go, but wait before Kobe went to the line his former teammate Caron Butler stepped up to him and tried to get in his head... "I was messing with him," said Butler,”I went and walked up to him and said, 'Man, give me one." Well looks like Kobe misses his old friend and decided to do just that... his second clanked rim and the Wizards had the ball down two points. With few on the clock; Butler received the ball took it up court and stopped at half court. He stares into the eyes of his man while eyeing the clock... less than ten seconds he starts making a move. Butler starts the penetration and pulls up at the three, pump fakes, Trevor Ariza goes flying... open look...draws the front iron and bounces off. "It felt real good," said Butler, who scored 26 points. "I had no intention of driving it. I was going for the win." Why question it? Something has to turn the season around and I for one have no problem with Caron going for the W against the best in the west. Although this team lost that evening, I believe they found an identity.

Washington Wizards

The Nets come off a three game win streak, all in which were won on the road. The Wizards well come in to this game not having won a game yet on the road (Only team to have not won a road game). After losing 11 straight games, the win came at a good time as they beat their first Eastern Conference team in fashionable style.

Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison put their foots down in this one, each dropped 22 points in a night where many would have called a Nets win. Even DeShawn Stevenson got into the act adding 21 points to help cushion the win. The game was closely contested through the first half as the Wizards had a 51-50 lead going into the break. Then during the half Michael Jordan came into the locker room and handed the players some of that Space Jam water. Obviously M.J. would not be anywhere near his former team, but something was said or done in the locker room because in the third period we saw the Wizards of the past.

The Eddie Jordan Era is over

Now I for one had said something had to change, but not once did I ever think anything of this magnitude. I think Eddie Jordan had been successful in his term with the Wizards. Although there were consistent losses to the Cavaliers in the playoffs and no titles, E.J. was a pretty stand up guy. My bulldog has this puzzled look on his face and I can't help but think Jordan has the same. What does Guiness (My English Bulldog) have to do with basketball? Well, absolutely nothing, but it concerns me to think that the same nothingness that concerns my pup; is the same thing Mr. Jordan is feeling at this very moment.

Can we say that the firing of the head coach is what will turn this franchise around this year? The answer is no, there is no way it gets better because the coach is gone. It's not all the coaches fault; he is missing his big man Brendon Haywood and the superstar Gilbert Arenas. In Jordan’s last three seasons with the Wizards he had a 45-26 record as long as Agent 0 was in the lineup (Along with the other starters, Caron Butler, Antwan Jamison and Stevenson). So riddle me this Batman, how in the world is this fair? It is ludacris (not the rapper) that the upper management doesn't see that with a healthy lineup this team is a threat in the East.

The Wizards have absolutely no Magic and I can't foresee any in the future. Lets start with this...

"A team is built a certain way, fellas. This team is built for Gilbert Arenas to lead us. This team is built for our all star forwards to carry the wings for us, ok, and for the certain things that they do offensively for us, and for Brendan Haywood to have a career year manning the middle for us. We don't have those things. You know, you're asking people to do things that they're not capable of doing. They are not capable of carrying the load for us like a Dwayne Wade, like a Gilbert Arenas. You’ve got young guys who aren't going to make veteran plays night in, night out. They're going to be good here and there, so to be in the game is a credit to everyone in our organization right now." - Coach Eddie Jordan

Remember the old saying "it's never over till it's over"? Well the Wizards better start remembering the phrase if the season continues to play out the way it has. Now don't get me wrong I know it’s a very long season, but how long can you wait before the panic button begins to appear larger? On a night that looked like the young team could be picking up their first win, all things that could go wrong most seemingly did.

The Good

The Wizards were able to penetrate and get to the line, a matter of fact they got there 51 times in the game. They had active hands in the game pulling away 12 steals and forcing a total of 19 turnovers. The team looked pretty sharp through 3 quarters looking like they may have some momentum to continue into the fourth quarter and close out the game.

The Washington Wizards Week 1

Remember last post season when Soulja Boy was making his way through hip hop radios everywhere and all the boys and girls were doing the Superman. I’m sure DeShawn Stevenson remembers it quite well, how could he not? The attitude coming from the Wizards guard with taunts of LeBron James is overrated stirred in the atmosphere as the series began. Well we all know how the story went and another year ended for Wizards basketball. So many questions coming into this season presented themselves as people were anxious to see if Gilbert Arenas could ever coexist with the new leaders Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison. Well no one really has to worry about that as Agent 0 went down and had to have yet another surgery on the injured knee. Can Arenas get back to form after missing 69 games last season and in my opinion only coming back to hurt the chemistry of the team in the playoffs? Only time will tell how the once known superstar comes back... keep faithful Wizards fans as the Heat are beginning to see the value of patience with Dwayne Wade. So let’s get into the Wizards basketball.

Tha Jello Jigglers - You may say I am biased, but come one the team has the highest points output, beat one of the best teams You Still Dont Want It With Us and not to mention dethroned the only undefeated team last week Big Bs Bad Boys. Although the team has lost two games they have beaten arguably the other top teams and have done so in pretty impressive fashion. Total points puts the team at number 1.

Big Bs Bad Boys - Other than a tough loss last week Brandons boys have torn up the game center with points upon points recently. A great coach and risky game plays have made this team one to mess with. The only thing that may cause concern is the fact the another main threat YSDWIWU has yet to face this team. Another loss would definitely switch the two teams around. Look for some smart safe moves from the coach to try to secure a win against a tough team this week.

Marshawn Lynch

Beast mode seems inevitable in this kid.. the only problem is the Bills deciding to not continue to give him the ball. Don't getme wrong Fred Jackson is a great change of back, but your featureack needs the ball to get some consistancy. Look at Marion Barber and Felix Jones in Dallas. The Cowboys "seem" to give the ball quite a bit to the rookie however The Barbarion is still touching the ball 20+ carries most games. I am very dissapointed that on of our best players is not getting 20-25 carries a game. Think about it Buffalo.. giv him the ball atleast 5 times a quarter and you get him 20 carries and I can guarantee you he breaks one and piles some good yardage. Feed the Beast!

Fred Jackson

Now I still have love for the once practice squad rb. He does come in a give the element of suprise. He is a good reciever and a pretty solid blocker, but he is not the work horse of this team. So instead of feeding him the ball three times inside the five you need to put the manwho rarely goes down after one hit and show him why you drafted him.

I had this awesome thing written about everyone and everyones names were in it and it made you feel all warm and tingly, but you know how CBS likes to erase things without asking.. yeah well it does. So once again I will go and kind of flirt with my original post. The season started out on a tear.. Jacobs Lions lost the best quarterback in the game and one of the best scorers in FF. Djs Elites had the first pick and who else would it go to other than LT.. so far not so good. Some teams looked promising and just haven't gotten over the hump while others are out the gates to a roaring start. Big Bs Bad Boys holds the undefeated mark, while Tha Jello Jigglers own the most points. There is plenty chance for Andrew and Morgan to make quick strikes and claim the top. The season is young and its had been fun so far.. Lets jump into this!

So lets take a look at the upcoming weeks to the bye and the week after.

Week 3 Oakland Raiders

So this team has had plenty of its downs, but they have definitely added some hot young pieces for the future of their franchise. While the head coach position is up in the air one thing that is not is the ability for this team to run the ball. The passing game is not anything to exciting and nothing to worry to much about. A win against the Cheifs in week 2 puts them a 1-1 however thats a temporary fix for a major situation in Raidazz land. I think the Bills have shown they can handle powerfull running teams. (Jaguars)

My Prediction Bills 28 - 7 Bills 3-0 Raiders 1-2

It was almost great, the Spurs dropped another game after losing to the Pistons and the Rockets beat the Bobcats to make the 3:30est sunday contest just that much better against the Lakers. The only thing wrong is the Lakers still had to play basketball, and about three minutes in to the Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul MVP race game our puzzle piece was unglued with a sprained ankle.. We went on to lose the game and we have lost Pau Gasol for the trip and probably up to two weeks. It just shows you can't count anything out in this game. Kobe gets his pinky messed up and plays through it and then Pau goes down. Im tired of watching our bench have to carry out our stars. If we lose three games without the Suns losing we fall behind them in the division. Am I worried about it? ya im not going to lie to you and say it's not causing concern, but if the guy we say is the best in the league and argue for daily on these boards is really the best or at least on of then why couldn't we pull off at least 2 out of the next three? or 3 in a row? All I know is my humble pie was sitting on the counter befor Pau went down.. it was made after the loss to the Kings. and I am about to take a huge bite before sundays game. Tracy McGrady and friends lost their all star Yao Ming for the season, but have continued to win.. so why the hell should we bee different. Time to go to work L.A., time to see if the boys are ready to become men and see if this team is made of champions or just contenders. Lets go Lakers! Avitar remains to change for the opponents... untill I lose a bet!

Thanks to the Lakersnation for the article...

When Kobe Bryant went to Las Vegas over the summer to compete in the qualifying tournament of the Americas for the USA Olympic team, he looked like he was in great shape and declared he was going to focus on his defense with this team. Unlike with the Lakers, Kobe would not have to put all of his energy into the offensive side of the ball, since he had the likes of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and etc. to help out with the scoring. So Kobe took it upon himself to ask the coaching staff if he could guard the opposing team’s best player every single game.

Kobe’s defense had fallen off over the past few years as was seen last season when other team’s stars would put up big point totals on him (look at Michael Redd’s 45 points or Gilbert Arenas’ 60 points last season at home). This caused Kobe to rededicate himself to get his defense back to NBA All-Defensive team style. Even though Kobe had been put on these teams in years past, it was more out of respect then for his actual play.

You know my fellow Lakers fans we hear alot of crap when our team starts winning and we here even more when we are the best. We here all kinds of b.s. when LeBron James and Shaquille O'neal say our sg Kobe Bryant is the best player in the game. All people do is hate on the Lakers, but I've said it before (this one is for Norie) If they hate them let em' hate and watch the money pile up. Money = wins(metaphor). It is so much easier when you hate the Lakers to put fog in your eyes and let the wax build in your brain then to realize and admit. Its easier to criticize then to compliment. So unlike the others, when they come over with their non sense and no informed stats, let us bring our history, information and the truth to them. Oh by the way Go Lakers!
